It has been "implemented" in various traditional ways in cultures and societies around the world and I love the idea of transferring and testing it to fit within the unique context of American health care and promotion. Our society currently alienates and isolates elders instead of sharing their wisdom and strengths. I feel it would be important to intentionally recruit a cross section of elders with diverse representation in terms of gender, race, ethnicity,"class" or professional backgrounds in order to truly maximize the goal of "adherence" for the patients they will be advising.
